Communication का अर्थ

Communication शब्द Latin के Communis/Communicare से बना है, जिसका अर्थ है: To share or make common — साझा करना

Communication वह process है जिसमें sender और receiver symbols, language या behaviour के माध्यम से information, ideas, feelings और meaning share करते हैं।

Communication = Exchange of Meaning

केवल message भेजना communication की सफलता नहीं है। Receiver द्वारा intended meaning समझना आवश्यक है।

ExampleTeacher ने "critical thinking" की definition बता दी, लेकिन learners उसका meaning नहीं समझे। Information transmitted हुई, लेकिन meaning shared नहीं हुआ — इसलिए communication effective नहीं है।

Communication के प्रमुख elements: Sender/Source, Idea, Encoding, Message, Channel/Medium, Receiver, Decoding, Feedback, Noise, Context।

Sender → Encoding → Message/Channel → Decoding → Receiver → Feedback

Sender/Source

जो व्यक्ति या institution communication शुरू करता है। Example: Classroom में teacher।

Encoding

Idea को words, signs, visuals या symbols में बदलना। Example: Teacher statistical concept को graph में बदलता है।

Message

वह content जो communicate किया जाता है।

Channel

Message पहुँचाने का माध्यम: Speech, Book, Email, Telephone, Television, LMS, Social media।

Receiver

जिसके लिए message intended है।

Decoding

Receiver द्वारा symbols या words का meaning समझना।

Feedback

Receiver की response, जो बताती है कि message किस सीमा तक समझा गया। Feedback हो सकती है: Immediate या delayed, Verbal या non-verbal, Positive या negative, Formal या informal।

Noise

कोई भी factor जो intended message के transmission या understanding में interference पैदा करे।

Exam TrapNoise ≠ केवल physical sound। Confusing words, anxiety, poor network और cultural differences भी noise हो सकते हैं।

Participants की संख्या के आधार पर

A. Intrapersonal Communication: व्यक्ति का स्वयं से communication। उदाहरण: Self-talk, Reflection, Internal decision-making।

B. Interpersonal Communication: दो व्यक्तियों के बीच communication। उदाहरण: Teacher और student conversation, Interview, Counselling।

C. Group Communication: तीन या अधिक members के बीच shared goal के लिए interaction। उदाहरण: Classroom discussion, Committee meeting, Focus group।

D. Public Communication: एक speaker द्वारा comparatively large, physically present audience को address करना।

E. Mass Communication: Technology और mass media के माध्यम से large, heterogeneous और dispersed audience तक message पहुँचाना।

Direction के आधार पर

A. Downward Communication: Higher authority से subordinate की ओर। Principal → Teacher → Student। उदाहरण: Instructions, policies, assignments।

B. Upward Communication: Lower level से higher authority की ओर। Student → Teacher → Principal। उदाहरण: Feedback, complaint, suggestion।

C. Horizontal/Lateral Communication: Same organisational level के persons के बीच। Teacher ↔ Teacher।

D. Diagonal Communication: Different departments और different hierarchical levels के बीच। IT assistant ↔ Department head।

Formality के आधार पर

Formal Communication: Official channels और prescribed structure के अनुसार। उदाहरण: Official notice, Circular, Departmental meeting, Institutional email।

Informal Communication: Unofficial social interaction। Organisational informal network को कभी-कभी grapevine कहा जाता है।

Grapevine Patterns: Single-strand chain, Gossip chain, Probability chain, Cluster chain।

Feedback के आधार पर

One-way Communication: Sender से receiver की ओर; immediate feedback सीमित या absent। उदाहरण: Recorded lecture, notice, radio broadcast।

Non-verbal Communication अशाब्दिक संचार

Spoken या written words के बिना meaning communicate करना non-verbal communication है। यह verbal message को Repeat, Complement, Substitute, Regulate, Emphasise, Contradict कर सकता है।

High-context Culture

Low-context Culture
